Featured Subdivisions & Community Information
Indian Hills is Denver’s closest mountain suburb encompassing about 5.75 square miles. The area’s first inhabitants were Native Americans from the Ute, Arapahoe, and Cheyenne tribes. In the 1920’s George Olinger developed 3500 acres along Parmalee Gulch and advertised a log colony for summer residents. With the progression of full time families came essential services including a fire department, water district, post office, general store and a public elementary school.
Despite continued growth, there are numerous open space parks for recreation and the preservation of the Indian Hills mountain character. Community spirit can be observed every Fourth of July with the traditional Indian Hills pancake breakfast, town parade, and fireworks display.
